Week 8

After my lack of work last week I got the ball rolling monday night (during the snowfall). I had a successful night painting, the "room we don't' know what to call", is done! I went with COLOR and a color I have never painting a room... wait that's a lie but I am working on the opposite end of the color spectrum.

The rest of the days can be described in 3 words... Husband What Husband. The end is in sight and he has pulling the move date into January. With his abundance of vacations days he is taking Fridays off until we are moved in. I have a silly dream to only more about 1/2 to 3/4 of our belongings but, I'll dive into that another time.

The weekends work was exciting. I got tile for the front entryway, went with super dark tile and super dark grout. We put the first coat of paint on the cabinets. Adam sprayed the doors while I brushed the bases. The dining room walls finally got their final coat of paint, the wainscoting still needs another coat, ugg it's getting to be a thorn in my side. Oh and Adam changed out light switches and outlets. A little job yes but, a big sign that we are almost done.

Week 7

She's back!! I've picked out some new colors for the dinning room and "the room" we don't know what to call. I also got a test cabinet door ready and the counter top is ordered too.

Our week nights are pretty busy but we both like to spend a night or so working over there (adam often spends more, if he sneaking out after the girls are in bed it gives me sometime to run. I call it a win-win)

Adam had to play this weekend solo. Saturday was spent as a day of fun, shopping with friends. Which included Cheesecake Factory, christmas returns, a few items for my wardrobe (I finally feel like it's coming together) and most of all there was some maturity clothes shopping in there too (obv not for me) Express was amazing for her growing belly!! Then on Sunday I spent the day in bed and on the couch :( the stomach flu decided to make a visit. Adam and his much loved crew sanding the parquet floor in Ellie's room ( i hate parquet but who could cover that with carpet!) More painting was done- dinning room is alm0st done, some second coats, and more trim trim trim.

I'm looking forward to get my hands dirty this next week.

Week 6

After the craziness that is Christmas in our family we settled into normal life. All gifts went straight over to the new house. The new toys have kept the girls busy while Adam and I work. Also, it saved us a van load of stuff to move over there later.

Thank you Fisher for Christmas shutdown. Adam finished the hardwood and triumphed over his deadline. He also hung the kitchen cabinets!! He's pretty much amazing (just let me mush about my hus for a moment) I can't help but get sentimental seeing him work so hard for us and our girls.

I got back into painting, working away on woodwork in the dinning room. I'm already starting to get bored of the beige house I've created (even though that was my goal) I love color and have been trying to fight my internal color crazy designer. She may make an appearance in the back half of the house :)

Our Christmas in Snapshots

Week 5

It's the week of Christmas. That means our only goal is to have the girls' rooms ready for the big reveal. I'd say it was a success.

Week 4

Final push for paint, our weekdays included paint, paint, and more paint. Our Friday even included a 12 hour paint fest. The fun time included 2 of the best painters in M'town! I can undoubtly say that I had a great time painting until the wee-hours of the morning.

There was a final push for paint because Adam's dad was coming to put in the carpet that weekend. Adam and his dad spent Saturday finishing all the rooms, Sunday was spend on the stairs. I was amazing at how fast the carpet went in in. I am very happy with our choices, visually it makes such a difference. I'm enjoying these big visual changes they are a so rewarding... and who doesn't like instant gratification. Also on Sunday, Adam got started on the hard wood using his dad's professional grade nailer. The nailer needs to be returned by January 4th. Lucky for us Adam loves deadlines and he doesn't work the last week of the year.

I spent Sunday picking up the girls' furniture and some other must haves for their rooms. I had been waiting for a phone call to let us know that their beds where in... finally I called and surprise-surprise the beds where in. Funny how that always works out.
