Sing it Out Loud!
I like background noise, it usually is whatever day-time movie I can find (never cartoons I am not a fan of tv coma kids). Last week I decided that my background noise would be more beneficial if it were music. Music is a natural pick me up and I've needed some pick me up lately. Now I find myself singing along and dancing with the girls. What an easy solution never mind that the only station I can clearly pick up is the local county station- music is music and I love it all the same!

is it over yet?
This has been THE most whirlwind week I have in years.... and I truely mean years.
We live a pretty boring life and I take comfort in that. We are making decisions and changing our life (for the better) and I'm trying to find my way and cope. I'll consider my efforts this week to be only partially successful. I am outside of my comfort zone! We'll see how next week goes... I will be 28 a week from today :)
I haven't used this blog as a journal yet and I don't mean to frustrate anyone by being vague but... again just trying to find a way to cope.

June 5th 1982
We've spend the last couple of weekends renovating our carriage house (garage). I found myself waking up early and spending those hours by myself painting and doing the things that Adam doesn't like to do.
Lucky for me I found an AMAZING radio station and rocked away the hours and days. On the final morning of painting I again woke early and turned on the radio...I was then transported to that same week in 1982. The station was running a classic Casey Kasem's Billboard top 40. FYI- I was born July 1st of that year. I spent the next hours listing and thinking of what my parents were feeling as they listened to these same songs 28 years ago while they awaited my arrival.
As I listened I had several a-ha moments:

As I listened I had several a-ha moments:
- There were several songs that I had never heard before, which was oh so entertaining.
- A new found love of Joan Jet and the Blackhearts... but really, who could ever go wrong with Crimson and Clover
- I had no idea that Tainted Love or 867-5309 were such early 80s hits
- Paul Simon and Art Garfunkle upset me a little. This will take a little explaining... On September 19, 1981 the duo reunited for a free concert on the great lawn of New York's Central Park attended by more than 500,000 people. They released a live album from the concert the following March and in June Wake up Little Susie made it's way on to the Billboard chart. Why would this make me upset??? Cheap Trick's famous concerts at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo in April 1978 that were recorded for the group's most popular album, Cheap Trick at Budokan. A live version of I Want You to Want Me from the album Cheap Trick at Budokan was released in 1979 which became their biggest selling single and the largest audience at a live recording to ever make the Billboard charts... until Simon and Garfunkle decided to have a free benefit concert of the homeless ppppffft Sorry Paul and Art I'm never going to be ok about you beating Cheap Trick even tho you did in all aspects of your career :)
- ASIA was/is a supergroup
- Queen had an awful hit, it was so bad I can't even remember the name
