The Ball is Rolling

What a weekend!
It started with Black Friday, Adam was up by 5 and in line at Menards well before 6am.
For those of you from M'town he had to park by Radio Shake and his spot in line was just beyond the drive up for US Bank.
Highlights of the loot:
interior doors
closet doors
ceiling fans
vanity tops

Then he was off to Sears, M'towns best secret. It's a dealer store and black friday deals are not limited to what's in stock (the add says only 2 per-store on many items). Adam got a dishwasher; I later returned for the stove and microwave. Oh and a tv too, one of the best deals of the day, the sign was $100 over actual purchase price :) I could hardly hold back my excitement while sliding my debt card.

We spend Saturday working. I mostly primed and Adam prepared the kitchen for a back splash. FYI if you ever want to change your backslash don't tile directly on drywall. The previous owner did just that. We had a nice work day and the girls did great. They spent a good portion of the day coloring a VERY large box. Ellie napped wonderfully in Averie's room. I was hoping to start priming her room but, as most of this will go our goals exceed what we actually complete.

Sunday was another big day. Adam and I headed to Des Moines for light fixtures, door knobs, bathroom vanity and fixtures, cabinets, and hardwood flooring. We didn't get everything, I'm having a inner battle with bathroom fixture finished. But, it was a productive day to say the least. A special thanks goes out to the driving crew, we obviously couldn't of done it with them. We're very thankful to have such great friends! And BOO to the lady at Home Depot who said it won't fit!

Our Adventure

We're remodeling! Ok-ok I know you can't call flooring, paint, kitchen, baths, lighting, and what seems like a thousand other odds and ends "remodeling" but you get the idea.
I'm a mix of emotions...happy, scared, excited, nervous...you get the idea
Here's what we've got so far
Hardwood color decided...i think, Paint colors decided... phew, Master bedding bought... adam pick it out, I've ordered most everything we'll need for the girls' rooms... this was easy

Adam may have decided the GREAT CABINET debate last night and I couldn't be happier...but honestly more reason to be nervous We are diffidently going out on a limb

I will try to keep posting about the progress and looking forward to the fact that my blog may have finally found direction.

I wish it wasn't true

I've been a lazy blogger. I've been lazy in life.
It's not getting me anywhere and I don't understand. (sarcasm)

I have just over a wk to prepare my home and family for my temporary/semi absence.
Just a outpatient procedure but, I'm anxious.

Looking forward to feeling like myself again.

Maybe I'll have some time to blog from bed...

Maybe I'll deliver nothing but random one liners...

Elephants

I'm sure we've all gotten this or another forward with a similar message, never the less I always get a kick out of how simple the idea is.

> > I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to be when

> she grows up. She said she wanted to be President of the United States.

> Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there.
> >
> > So I asked her, "If you were President, what would be the first thing you would do?"

> > She replied, "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people..."
> Her parents proudly beamed.

> > President to do that. Tell you what - you can come over to my house and mow
> > the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my driveway, and I'll pay you $50.

> Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you
> > can give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house. How about
