reblogged 'scenes from my hood'

sometimes you have to make hard choices about people, between people.

this is something i firmly believe.

it has to do with loyalty.

yesterday meg and i discussed this.

even as adults, there are occasional complications

one friend will hurt another.

betrayal still happens.

we were discussing the impact that others’ unwillingness to take a position can have on a friendship.

i have, in the last year, minimized my contact with a few people who, when the going got tough, tried to play both sides.

as meg said yesterday “it’s not realistic to treat all friendships the same. you have to prioritize.”

this is exactly right.

the way i see it, you can’t walk down the middle your whole life

because it will keep you at a calculated distance from the people on either path.

Be Nice.... please

I borrowed this from someone's facebook status
"Cant wait for January to be over so i dont have to see all the fat resolutionists working out"
These kinds of statements hurt my heart.

How should these "fat" ppl lose weight? (at home on the couch?) Why are so many ppl intimidated to go to the gym? (because the 'fit' ppl look down at them) Why do year round fitness ppl think they have more rights or claim to the gym/equipment? (I'm guessing everyone pays the same fees)

New Year's resolution- Be Nice

Is it ok to re-tweet myself...I've obviously decided yes

I don't understand how anyone could like the cold, it's kind of like how I can't understand why anyone would be a democrat

and the reply is...

k@jonelljoy It's the same thing as your motto, 'crackheads have babies everyday.' It's a part of life that just doesn't make sense.

"Everything happens for a reason. Nothing happens by chance or by means of good luck. Illness, injury, love, lost moments of true greatness and sheer stupidity all occur to test the limits of your soul. Without these small tests, life would be a smoothly paved, straight, flat road to nowhere, safe and comfortable but dull and utterly pointless."
